Choux is a desert not known by many, especially in the Middle East but due to the rapid modernization of the world, this typical Western European Pastry is finally entering the eyes of the masses. Containing only butter, flour, and eggs, you can make this delicate pastry. It has been written in numerous cookbooks that the origin of ‘Choux’ could be dated back to the 1540s where a chef by the name Pantarelli or Pantanelli invented the dough. The dough that Panterelli created was named pate a Pantanelli which was technically, cake dough. Through time it evolved even further under the chef’s constant improvision and was then renamed – pate a popelin which are even smaller cakes.

Fast forward into the future, a patissier in the eighteenth century named Avice created what were then called Choux Buns. It was named as such due to its resemblance to cabbages which are called Choux in french. These small, sweet delicacies are a true testimony of the constant improvement and research that patissiers place into inventing ways to put a smile on our faces. Here at Delord, we take things up to a whole different level by incorporating our own ideas into our Choux. Different flavors with different artistic designs but in the end, we know that you will love it!
